fluxflux-repo for usage in synaptic
For updates and fixes users of fluxflux-eee-en-2008-9 (and higher, not yet available) can use a
special repository for apt/synaptic. They have to add a new repository
manually in apt or synaptic, no great work ...
There are two ways:
1. In a terminal for apt (apt-get)
- type
- sudo leafpad /etc/apt/sources.list
- and add in the open textfile a new line:
- rpm http://fluxflux.net/ pclinuxos/2007 testing
- store and quit the file.
- With
- sudo apt-get update
- the packagelist can be updated und in synaptic you can find
new RPMS for fluxflux by using the search function with the word
"fluxflux".
- Use the RPMS with the names
- fluxflux-packagename
- fluxflux-eee-packagename
- fluxflux-eee-en-packagename!
- Do not use the RPMS with the name
- fluxflux-eee-de-packagename, fluxflux-se-packagename!
2. Via synaptic
- Start synpatic, choose Configuration - Repositories and click
- Add new
- and add in the now open window
- Adress: http://fluxflux.net/
- Distribution: pclinuxos/2007
- Section(s): testing
- and store with OK.
- Then click "Refresh"
- and use the search with the word "fluxflux", then you will get new and updatable RPMS for fluxflux.
- Use the RPMS with the names
- fluxflux-packagename
- fluxflux-eee-packagename
- fluxflux-eee-en-packagename!
- Do not use the RPMS with the name
- fluxflux-eee-de-packagename, fluxflux-se-packagename!
Special updates and new RPMS for fluxflux-eee can be found in this way
(search for the word "fluxflux" and choose your preferred RPM).
Please read the additional information in the description of the RPMS,
because there are special updates or fixes for special eeePC variants
and not usable for all eeePCs!
